The Combat-Oriented Party Unveiled
Episode 3 ended with a dramatic pause and introduced the premier party of characters who will split off from the central cast to begin their independent quest, apart from the remaining groups.
The Soldiers table includes Teor (portrayed by the voice actor), Thimble (Laura Bailey), the strong-willed figure (Whitney Moore), Wicander Halovar (Sam), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie).
Dividing the Cast
With an extensive roster, it was obvious from the start that maintaining everyone at the same party would be impossible.
That’s why, the initial installments of the new season serve as an Prelude, connecting the characters’ stories before dividing into three separate parties: Soldiers, Strategists, and Questers.
What Defines the Combat Party
According to Brennan Lee Mulligan, the warrior group is for adventurers who are drawn to a typically action-packed battle-oriented story mode where diplomatic options are scarce.
At first glance, figures such as the squeamish cleric Wicander might look out of place, but the actions of episode 3 demonstrate why these particular heroes are perfectly fit for the Soldiers table.
Motivations for Departure
To begin with, the party understands precisely where to proceed after a violent initial meeting with The Crow Keepers.
A former ally of Thjazi Fang—whose passing kicked off the narrative’s action—manipulated the enemy for his selfish purposes, invading the hidden lair, attacking the rogue, and stealing all the magical artifacts to sell off.
Casimir then cleared his obligations and escaped to a secure base in Gormalay, Timmony, north of the urban center, with Cyd hot on his heels.
Personal Motivations
Additionally, each adventurer has a individual motive to depart Dol-Makjar:
- The rogue, as the companion and closest confidant, desires retribution.
- Kattigan has experience in the northern area and warns that it is a hostile location.
- The strong character and The cleric, having defied his relatives’ demands to eliminate the fighter and instead freed him, have nowhere else to go.
- Yet, their reputation as prominent individuals in the influential clan could help the party access locations they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Additionally, The grateful character vowed a life debt to Wicander for his deliverance and will now accompany him anywhere.
Fugitives
Finally, all of them are wanted by the powers that govern the city for a range of causes, making staying in the city no longer safe:
- Thimble and The character are recognized lawbreakers.
- The strong figure and Wicander betrayed House Halovar and the legion of demons they are allied with.
- The target is targeted for elimination by House Halovar.
This means them few options but to head to the remote area in search of Casimir.
